Alex is a complex and versatile artist working in Paris, France, with more than 15 years in the field of professional photography. Alex loves experiment in photography like Polaroids, pinhole or strange cameras.

“I choose to do the largest part of my work in analog format and mostly on Polaroid. I don’t do it because of nostalgia. Nostalgia is a feeling almost totally foreign to me. I believe I do it for the tangibility and materiality of the Polaroid. I’ve always preferred touching or looking at an actual photograph than seeing it on an electronic display.
Being educated both as a scientist and as an artist I believe I’m a strange mix of order and chaos. On one hand there’s my astrophotography (which sometimes is taken with a scientific purpose) a field of photography where I have to be very methodical and analytical. And, of course, pretty technical. On the other hand, there’s my artistic photography, and especially my personal work. Anything can happen there, I don’t care too much about technique and I have a very instinctual approach to it. Fashion photography is a game with no rules for me. But, at the same time, you have to know all the rules.
My Polaroid photography is a series of controlled mistakes, a mix of competence and naïveté.”
