Marla Rutherford

Marla Rutherford is a photographer based in Los Ángeles whose work is aimed to fashion, advertising, portrait with a fetish style, showing an original and fictional vision of incongruous worlds, playing with fantasy and domestic scenes.

Marla Rutherford builds a surrealistic universe on which people from different worlds get united. The originality of her works settles on the juxtaposition of children or old people with personalities from the fetishism and sadomasochism. Portraits of people being part of an american contra-culture, talking about common things such a smiling baby or an old woman sitting on the living room.
